Q: Why are my dogs eyes red and goopy?
My dogs eyes started to become a little red recently. The next day, she started to have a lot of goop building up on her eyes. Shes a maltese and has this a lot. But this time, it was a different color. Like a grayish, light green color. Her eyes have worsened throughout the week & now it looks like her eyelid is drooping over her eye and its hard for her to keep her eyes opened. What is this, why is it happening and what can I do to help relieve her ? Thank you everyone ! You were all very helpful. I'll be sure to take her to the vet. A: It sounds like your dog has an eye infection. She needs to see a vet for a proper diagnosis. She will likely need to be put on antibiotics. Eyesight is fairly delicate, please get her in to the vet immediately to be checked over and treated.

Q: Really need some advice. My cat isn't eating...?
Recently I have noticed that my cat has been losing weight. She is only 10 months old and she has always been a small cat but now she is really skinny. Now that I am aware of how skinny she is I've noticed that she hasn't been eating and I'm really worried. She is usually a great eater, but she won't even touch treats which normally she will come running across the house for. She has also been slightly lethargic the last day or so. Is there anything that would seem appetizing to a sick cat? Is there anything I can do to make her more comfrtable? Any idea why she may be feeling this way? I plan on taking her to the vet the first chance I can but until then I need some help, suggestions , or something. Here's some more info: She is strictly an inside cat. There are 2 other cats and a dog in the house but they are also inside pets. Other pets aren't allowed in the house. Originally she was a shelter cat. There is no vomitting or diahrea. No goopy eyes or runny nose. With it being Saturday night I doubt i'm going to find an open vet. I don't have the extra money to take her to an emergency vet so my options are limited to when I can get her in on Monday morning. I am taking her to the vet, I just can't do it until Monday morning. She is fed regularly- there is always a dish of dry food and fresh water out Also, lethargic was probably not the right word. She's been not as playful, but she's not sleeping more than usual.
A: Hi Try tempting her with meats, chicken, beef, deli meat, You can try tuna,plain yougart or meat babyfood with no onions. look at her gums and make sure they are not yellow. If they are it is an emergency and a vet is needed, If no vet is avaiulable you will have to force feed. None of this addresses what is causing the not eating. There can be many things and more info would be needed, Best of luck
